First off go wish Rammer a Happy One Year Blogoversary. At least I got to his on time, I totally missed Susie's which was about 3 days ago - an eternity in the blogosphere! Anyhow, Happy Anniversary to you too.
The Instaman says he'll never trust Nightline again. Well I hate to say it, but I haven't trusted them for years - 60 Minutes either... But that's just me.
And Thomas Sowell has some advice for those dealing with the media.
At other times, the host or hostess has simply not read the book that the interview is supposedly about -- and that may have nothing to do with ideology.A few years ago, a conservative TV interviewer told me, while we were waiting to go on the air and a microphone was being attached to my jacket, that he had not read the book that I had come to discuss but that he would interview me about something in the news that day.
I immediately removed the microphone that had just been put on me, gave him a few well chosen words, and walked out.
We have an afternoon talking head on one of the BIG radio stations here in town who, quite possibly, does the worst interviews I've ever heard. Not because he hasn't read the book or seen the movie or whatever the interviewee is pushing, but because he doesn't LISTEN to the guest.
Example...
Guest: I fell down the stairs and broke my leg.
Host: So why are you wearing a cast?
At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt - thinking it was because he was the new guy on the station, but things never improved. If I was being interviewed and that happened, I'd say "well you'd know if you actually listened to what I said, but hey since you can't, I'm outta here". Sadly no one ever does that. Anyhow, go read the rest of what Sowell has to say - he's always wonderful.
Oh yeah - one last thing I almost forgot! Someone managed to find their way over here from Google searching on California Cheese Commercial! That was a post I did about the Super Bowl. Now, if that person comes back and wants some real cheesy goodness, you really need to go see LeeAnn. Just thought I'd help you out.
